The team is com- prised of 34 students who are mainly underclassman, with on- ly six seniors - three on offense and three on defense. Coach Ted Jackson says in his 24 years as coach, this is the team’s first los- ing season. Under Jackson’s leadership, the team was state champions in 1993, Eastern Conference Champions four times, league champions near- ly a dozen times and district champions several times. Jack- son was a physical education teacher in the Wilkes-Barre Ar- ea School District for 35 years until his retirement at the end of the 2007-08 school year. He was the Coughlin High School football coach from 1973 to 1985 and also coached high school baseball atWilkes-Barre Area for five years.
