The group has been in exist- ence for 41 years under the di- rection of Cherilyn Ayres, for- mer vocal music director of Troy Middle and High Schools. The singers perform about 30 concerts a year in the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania and New York state. Singing in Bradford, Tioga, Lackawanna, Potter, Wyoming, Sullivan, Chemung and Lycom- ing counties, the Cobblestones have received rave reviews for their energy and exciting chore- ography, an integral part of their performance. Selection to be included are tunes from “Godspell,” Sandi Patti’s “Let There Be Praise,” an arrangement of “This Little Light of Mine,” “All My Trials,” “Chariot,” “Sit Down Servant,” a gospel version of “O Holy Night,” “Saints Go Marchin’” and many more. Kozokas graduates from basic training Air Force Airman Lee R. Kozokas, son of John and Janet Kozokas, of Staub Road, Trucksville and a 2007 gradu- ate of Dallas High School, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of train- ing, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization and military customs and cour- tesies, performed drill and ceremony marches and re- ceived physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Sulewski is doing student teaching Jamie Su- lewski, daugh- ter of John and Karen Sulew- ski of Dallas and a senior at King’s College, is currently student teach- ing elementary school at Gate of Heaven as a part of the King’s College edu- cational requirements. Sulewski Kozick named to honor society Amy Kozick,of Shavertown, was recently inducted into Pi Theta Epsilon, the Occupation- al Therapy Honor Society of Misericordia University, during a ceremony in the Banks Stu- dent Life Center’s Kennedy Lounge. Scouts will collect food for pantry Each year, the Boy Scouts of Troop 281 and the Cub Scouts of Pack 281 participa- te in the Annual Scouting for Food Program. This charity collects food and money donations over a one-week period for the less fortunate families in our community. Scouts will distribute bags for food pick up throughout Back Mountain neighbor- hoods from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24. Food will be picked up beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 1. It will be sorted, boxed and taken to the Food Pantry at the Trucksville United Methodist Church. All food collected will stay in the Back Mountain area.
