PAGE2 THE POST CHURCH Sunday, December 16, 2007 Society celebrates season | CHARLOTTE BARTIZEK/ FOR THE DALLAS POST The Rev. Jim Paisley and the retiring and incoming officers of the St. Therese's Altar and Rosary Society are, from left, Carol Paxton, Dell Luke, Mona Dymond, Mary Petty, Millie Yanchik, Betty Balonis, Alice Hudak, Dot Cebrick, Peg Fischer and Ann Domnick. Members of St. Therese’s Al- tar & Rosary Society didn’t let a couples inches of snow stop them from celebrating their an- nual Christmas party on De- cember 2 at the Knights of Co- lumbus Hall in Luzerne. Two highlights of the party were the installation of officers for 2008 and the raffling of a beautiful handmade quilt that brought in nearly $1,000 for the society. The quilt, which was about six months in the mak- ing, was made by Mona Dy- mond, Millie Yanchik, Peggy Fischer, Mary Petty, Rita Youngblood and Patti Gallagh- er. Barbara Liparalle, of Shaver- town, was the lucky winner and took home the beautiful hand- made quilt while Ethel Bal- truskes won the second prize of an afghan made by the church women. Dot Sebrick, of Shaver- town, won the third prize good- ie basket. This queen-sized quilt was raffled off during St. Therese's Altar and Rosary Society's annual installation of offi- cers ceremony. Creators of the quilt are, from left, Mona Dymond, Millie Yanchik, Peg- gy Fischer, Mary Petty, Rita Young- blood and Patti Gallagher.
