Cats have heart, but not win The Back Mountain Bobcats C team dropped its final game of the regular season, 36-0, to the eter Panthers. o open the game, the Bobcats ose to receive the ball and Bo Butler returned it to the 36-yard line. During the Bobcats’ posses- sion, Bob Oakley and Stone Man- nello ran the ball but not enough for a first down. The Bobcats turned the ball over on downs and the Panthers took over on the 27-yard line. Chris Mennig, Mannello and Cameron Brennan made great tackles but, on second and 2, the Panthers broke through the Bob- cat defense. The defense of Dan Sweeney, Oakley, AJ Spears, Ja- cob Corey, RJ Driscoll and Zack ddle defended against the 2- int conversion and the Pan- ers took a 6-0 lead. Bo Butler returned the ball to the 35-yard line and, on the next two plays, Oakley and Mannello ran the ball to bring up third and five. The offense of Eric Swee- penheiser, Owen Morgan, Men- nig, Corey, Andrew Shaver, Swee- ney, Haddle and Chris Allen blocked for the backfield. Man- nello’s pass intended for Steve Darling was incomplete and Oak- ley punted to the Panthers. Great tackles were made by Mennig, Oakley and Haddle with the help of the defensive play of Danny Schnable, Devin Dixon, Charlie Kuschke, Joey Chaga, Marcus Steele, Zack Gable and Anthony Grandinetti. On fourth and 11, the Panthers managed to penetrate the Bobcats’ defense and score. During the second quarter, Driscoll returned the ball to the 35-yard line. Oakley, Mannello and Brennan all ran the ball to earn first down for the Bobcats. Unable to get another first down, Oakley punted the ball to the Panthers. The Bobcats’ defense of Oakley, Mennig, Darling, Spears and Butler all had great tackles but the Panthers complet- ed a pass downfield and scored. With a great block by Mennig, the 2-point conversation was again unsuccessful. The Panthers kicked. the ball and Driscoll returned the ball to the 40-yard line for the Bobcats. Oakley and Brennan ran the ball to bring up fourth and 7 and Man- nello’s pass was complete to Dar- ling but wasn’t enough for the first down. Kuschke kicked the ball to the Panthers to start the third quar- ter and, on the first play after the half, the Panthers threw a pass for a touchdown. The 2-point con- version was good and the Pan- thers were ahead, 26-0. Driscoll returned the kick to the 44-yard line but the Bobcats fumbled on the exchange and the Panthers recovered the ball. The Bobcats played great defense, forcing the Panthers to turn the ball over on downs. The Bobcats drove the field with great running plays by Oak- ley, Brennan, Darling and Man- nello. On fourth down, Oakley kicked the ball to the Panthers and the Panthers fumbled the ball which was recovered by Dar- ling. The Panthers ran the ball and great tackles were made by Men- ning, Spears, Schnable and Had- dle. On the next drive, the Pan- thers scored again, but the 2- point conversion was unsuccess- ful. Butler returned the ball to the 45-yard line. The Bobcats played the next series with a lot of heart and great runs were made by Mannello, Oakley and Brennan but remained scoreless. Yin oy ny ¥ R JUNIOR MOUNTS A TEAM Junior Mounts 26 Forty Fort Flyers 6 The Dallas Junior Mount A team de- feated the Forty Fort Flyers, 26-6. Scoring touchdowns for the Mounts were Logan Bullock with a 5-yard run, Austin Smith on a 5-yard run, Brett Wa- nek on a 50-yard pass from Jason Si- monovich and Stephen Mingey on a 20- yard run. Mingey also scored the 2- point conversion. Also gaining yardage for Dallas were Jordan Visneski and Nick Evans. Logan Bullock hauled in two interceptions, along with Shane Dunn and Austin Smith each with an interception. Dallas enters the league playoffs as the Number One seed. C TEAM Junior Mounts 32 Forty Fort Flyers 6 The Dallas C Team took home anoth- er victory last Sunday with a win over Forty Fort, upping its record to 8-1head- ing into next week's playoffs. Cole Dixon and David Simpson scored a total of 24 points and Matt Harrison made the 2- point conversions. Justin Hutchins had an interception and David Simpson recovered a kick off fumble. Great defense from Andrew Shurites, Xavier Barber, Aiden Marti- nez and many others held the Flyers to only six points. D TEAM The Dallas “D" team put an exclama- tion point on a successful regular sea- son with an exciting game against Forty Fort. Joshua Lydon scored four times and Todd Phillips added anotherTD as Sean Henniger and Tom Hajikowski cleared the way. Jerry Ogurkis, Hunter Love, Connor Maloney and Ryan Maloney led a stingy defense as Dallas put the clamps on the Flyers offense. The dedication and hard work these young men put into this season led to steady improvement and propelled them into the league's elite. JUNIOR MOUNTS ‘A’ TEAM CHEERLEADERS WIN TITLES DOR X0CT The Dallas Junior Mounts “A” team cheerleaders have added several titles to their portfolio in the past few weeks, having clinched victories in two cheerleading competitions. At Lake-Leh- man, the girls placed first in their hometown cheer, second in their chant and sideline dance and third in their hello cheer.
