There will not be a make-up day this year.) Students are requested to arrive promptly at the time stated on the day of the phys- “icals. ‘ There is a new physical form this year, which can be picked up in the high school office between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday to Friday. All forms must be completed and signed by the parent/guardian of the student prior to the exam. Gridiron Club plans golf tournament The Dallas Gridiron Club is hosting its 10th Annual Golf Tournament, on Sunday, July 9, at the Wilkes-Barre Golf Ib. Cost is $75 per golfer which includes green fees, carts, re- freshments, dinner and prizes This will not be just your typical Captain and Crew Tour- nament. Although you will be able to compete in Captain and Crew format, there will be a separate division for those who wouldiprefer to play individual and compete for individual and 4-Man Better Ball prizes. Registration starts at 12:30 p.m. with shotgun at 1:30p.m. Contact Joe Rubbico at 675- 4782 if interested in playing or 8 ‘1g a sponsor. Dallas Varsity Cheer Clinic is back The Dallas Varsity Cheer- leaders will hold a clinic for children in grades K-8 in the gymnasium at the Dallas High School from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on August 24, 25 and 26. Parents will be invited to a show at 1 p.m. on August 26. All participants will receive a commemorative T-shirt, a daily - snack time, a daily craft time, games and prizes! Cost is $35 per child and $25 for each additional sibling. Sign-ups will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, at the Dallas High School. Mountaineer football .m raises money The Dallas Mountaineer football team raised money for the Back Mountain Library Auction by competing in a pie/sponge contest against Lake-Lehman. The group raised more than $200 to bene- fit the library. All-Stars enjoy great season Members of the Back Moun- tain American 8-9-year-old Little League All-Stars enjoyed a great season, even turning a rare triple against Plains Pur- ple to get out of a bases-loaded jam. With games beginning the Friday before Labor Day, players are itching to get started working on their gri- diron skills. Dallas High School foot- ball coach Ted Jackson con- ducts a football camp every year for youngsters who hope to one day play for the Dallas Mountaineers. Members of the Dallas High School football team coaching staff, current play- ers and former players as- sisted Jackson with the camp. The three-day camp stressed all aspects of of- fense and defense, includ- ing throwing, running, re- ceiving, blocking and taclk- ing.
