The church is located ‘at 163 N. Pioneer Avenue in Shavertown. The candlelight vigil will honor men and women in the military, including those who have lost their lives in service to the country. Trucksville UMC plans special service Members and friends of the Trucksville United Methodist Church are invited to attend a special Harvest Home Commu- nion Service at 11:30 a.m. Thurs- day, Nov. 16 in the church’s Fellowship Hall. Pastie sale being held at Lehman-idetown UMC The Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church will hold its monthly pastie sale Thursday, Now. 16 at the Lehman United Methodist Church. Orders may be given to Linda VanGorder or Willis Ide. The sale is being held a week early due to the Thanks- giving holiday. The United Methodist Wom- en will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28. The Advent/Christmas (= Potential! A convenient exam location in Luzerne County; \Discover Your program “Let There Be Peace on Earth” will be presented by VanGorder. The UMW will hold the annual Christmas party at the Red Rooster on Tuesday, Dec.5. Reservations may be given to Kristi Snyder or Jayne Haefele. At 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, the couples/singles club will meet at the church in Lehman Township. The covered dish dinner will be followed by a short meeting and a night of games. Singing, fellowship to highlight service The Step by Step Praise Band of the Shavertown United Meth- odist Church will hold a special praise and prayer service with singing and fellowship at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13 in the church sanctuary. The church is located at 163 N. Pioneer Avenue in Shavertown. The service will be filled with contemporary Christian music from all around the world, as well as some old favorites. Churches to combine for Thanksgiving service St. Luke Reformation Luth- eran Church will host a Thanks- giving Service at 6 p.m. Wednes- day, Nov. 22 at the church in Noxen. Churches participating in the service will be Noxen Methodist Charge, Lehman- Idetown United Methodist, Loyalville United Methodist Church, and St. Luke Reforma- tion Church. Holy Communion will be celebrated. The Rev. Leanne Campbell will be the Homilist and Martin Everhart will be the Celebrant. Carverton UMC plans pork dinner The Carverton United Metho- dist Church will hold a family- style pork and sauerkraut dinner from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at the church. Awana Club meets at Grace Community The Awana Club of Grace Community Church meets from 6-7:45 p.m. each Wednesday at the church, located across from Chapel Lawn Cemetery on, Memorial Highway.
