PAGE 4 THE POST COMMUNITY Sunday, September 10, 2006 MISERICORDIA STUDENTS TO FORM HUMAN FLAG TO BENEFIT RESPONDERS Students at College Misericordia will form a human American Flag in remembrance of the ter- rorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. The event will take place at noon Monday, Sept. 1l on the college grounds near McHale Hall. The rain date is noon Tuesday, Sept.12. The event is being organized by sophomore Jessy Schwenk, along with the Residence Life office and Campus Safety. For $5, each participant will receive a red or white T-shirt. All proceeds will benefit the Dallas Borough fire and rescue departments. Pictures will be taken from the roof of McHale Hall and will be available for purchase. This will be the second time the Misericordia campus has organized a human American Flag to benefit emergency responders. Two years ago, more than 225 people participated and raised S175 for emergency responders in Dallas. The PT Cruiser “Blue 2" and the motorized beverage cooler “Lil Blue” from Greencas- tle, Ind. will be among the features at the an- nual FUNDRIVE 4 A CAUSE 2, which will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sat- urday, Sept.16 at Grotto Pizza, Harveys Lake. The customized vehi- cles are owned by Lin- da and Bill Robertson of Greencastle. The event raises awareness and funds for Asperger Syndrome and other autism spectrum disor- ders. Proceeds will be donated to the Earthly Angels Autism Fund. Many local and out-of- state PT Cruisers will be on display. There is no admission charge. The public is invited. CUSTOMIZED CRUISERS TO BE FEATURED AT EVENT Chili cookoff, dance, singing contest, Kiss the Pig among highlights of Dallas Harvest Festival The annual Dallas Harvest Fes- tival will be held from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17 on Main Street in Dallas. Parking will be available at the Back Mountain Memorial Li- brary with free shuttle service to the festivities. For the first time, the festival is are normal, vegetarian, hottest, and unusual. The entry fee is $30 and prizes will be awarded. For a $5 fee, festival-goers can taste the chili and vote for their favorite. Half of the money raised from the contest will be donated to the Back Mountain Food Pan- try. 5872. A night of dancing to The Orig- inal Starfires will usher in the weekend. The Harvest Festival dance will be held from 7 p.m. to mid- night Friday, Sept. 15 at Irem Temple Country Club.
