And for once, the event lived up to the ; : * hype. : 1 The highly-anticipated meet between the Dallas and Lake-Lehman girls earli- er this week went down to the final event, with Nikki Pisacano’s second- place finish in the shot put securing a 78-72 win by Dallas at Edward H. There were other reasons for people to get excited about the event. Not only was it a battle between two backyard ri- vals, both teams came into the meet with an undefeated record in the Wyom- ing Valley Conference Division II. Dal- las improved to 5-0 while Lake-Lehman fell to 4-1. Six individual school records were tied or broken. Paige Selenski of Dallas set two school records by winning the 100 dash in 12.4 seconds and the 200 dash in 26.3, while teammate Cassie Snyder set a school record in the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 4'4 inches. Lake-Lehman’s Kelsey Amy set the school mark in the 100 dash with a time of 12.5 seconds. Teammate Jaime Lip- ski ran a 60.3 in the 400 to set a new mark and Tina Watkins tied her own school record of 47.5 in the 300 hurdles. There were also relay records. The Dallas 400 and 1,600 relay teams set re- cords of 51 seconds and 4:06.2, respec- tively. Lake-Lehman’s 400 relay team broke a school record with a second- ace time of 52.1, and the 1,600 relay set a new mark with a winning e of 4:06.1. In the boys meet, Lake-Lehman rolled to a 103.546.5 win against the : ll : Mountaineers.
