Sunday, March 5, 2006 THE POST PAGE7 SPORTS ® ACIUKEWICZ BUCKETS 1,500TH POINT Josh Aciukewicz, the senior center for the Bishop O'Reilly Queensmen basketball team recently attained two milestone athletic events. In the second-half of the season during a game against Bishop Hoban, he bucketed his 1,500th point, and shortly thereafter in a game against West Side Tech, he grabbed his1,000th rebound. If it’s March, that means it’s the time of the year for the many Dis- trict 2 tournaments and playoffs. The post-season has been kind to several athletes and teams from Dallas and Lake-Lehman. Dallas senior Alaric Eby made District 2 history by capturing his fourth consecutive Class 2A div- ing championship. Teammate Mike Glicini also turned in an im- pressive performance, finishing third to earn a medal. The Dallas girls dominated the event, capturing the first three places. Sophomore Erica Lisses led the way by winning the cham- pionship. She was followed by teammates Shannon dingle and Mariel Adams. Eby, Lisses and Dingle each advance to the state diving championships March 16- 17 at Bucknell University. RESTLING The Dallas wrestling team capped off a successful season in District 2 action with a second- place finish at the District 2 championships at Scranton Prep High School. The Mountaineers finished with 186.5 points, be- hind Lackawanna Trail's 199.5. Brian Goeringer captured an in- dividual championship at 171 pounds and head coach Dan Nat- itus was named the Wyoming Val- ley Conference Coach of the Year.
