Alison Taroli doing drug research Alison M. Taroli, daughter of Attorney Garry and Kate Taroli, of Dallas, will be spending her summer as a Drug Metabolism Research Chemist at Merck Research Laboratories in Rahway, New Jersey. Alison just completed her sophomore year as a chem- istry major at King’s College and is a dean’s list student and a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre Medical Honors Society. She graduated from Bishop Hoban High School in 2003. Honor society inductees Barbara Zimniski, Trucksvile, and Frank Owens, Hunlock Creek, recently were inducted into the Luzerne County Community College chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda, the national honor soci- ety for adult learners. Alpha Sigma Lambda honors dedicated adult students who accomplish academic excellence while manag- ing the responsibilities of work and family. Nichols earns scholarship from Arcadia University Jennifer Nichols, Mehoopany, has been awarded a Distinguished Scholarship by Arcadia University and has been accepted to the University for study in the fall of 2005. Nichols, a graduate of Tunkhannock High School, is one of a select group of students to earn the scholarship. The award win- ners have exhibited outstanding academic achievement and lead- ership in school and/or community activities. Hosseini, Feinstein to attend Governor's Schools of Excellence Wyoming Seminary juniors Kevan Hosseini of Dallas and Ross Feinstein of Shavertown will be attending the Governor’s Schools of Excellence this summer. Hosseini and Feinstein were named to the statewide pro- gram based on their academic achievement, leadership poten- tial and interest in the pro- gram’s specific issues. Hosseini, son of Dr. and Mrs. Hamid Hosseini, will attend the Governor’s School for Health Care at the University of Pittsburgh, where he will study human services, health care issues, therapies, pharma- ceuticals, sports medicine, pub- lic health, mental health, and medical careers. Feinstein, son of Dr. and Mrs. Peter Feinstein, will attend the Governor’s School for the Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University, where he will study chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, astrophysics, material sciences and comput- er science. They will both spend five weeks at their respective uni- versity, with room and board, tuition, classroom materials and activities fees covered by full scholarships.
