Matt Ruch added a pair of hits and scored two runs for O'Reilly. Tunkhannock 6, Crestwood 4 Apr. 26 — Andy Solanick scattered four hits and struck out five to lead Tunkhannock. Solanick, had three hits, includ- ing a two-run single for the Tigers in the first inning. The eventual winning run came on a Zach Migliori sacri- fice fly in the third inning that put Tunkhannock up 5-2. Chad Crispell added two hits and scored twice for Tunkhannock. Tyler Austin had a pair of singles. Dallas 19, Bishop Hoban 15 Apr. 21 — Led .by grand slams from Mike Race and Eric Samanas in a 10-run sixth . inning, the Mountaineers hand- ed the Argents their first loss of the season. Race went 4-for-5 with six RBI, Gracjan Kraszewski was 2- for-5 with three RBI and Dave harding went 2-for4 with two RBI. Dave Shultz pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to get the win. Lake-Lehman 6, Hanover 4 Apr. 21 — Matt Shiskowski, Pat McHugh and Matt Kapitula each had two hits to lead the Black Knights. Shiskowski’s triple drove in two runs in the fifth when Lehman took con- trol. McHugh, Kapitula, Brian Cornia and Ken Pollock had one RBI apiece. Kapitula took the mound to save a win for Matt Straub, who struck out five in 5 2/3 innings. SOFTBALL Lake-Lehman 2, Bishop Hafey O (12 innings) Apr. 26 — Winning pitcher Sheree Horvath allowed just three hits, struck out 15 and didn’t walk a batter. She went 3- for-6 at the plate. In the 12th, Lehman’s Joscelyn Mahon reached on an error and later scored on an error. Later in the inning, Tara Whispell singled in Horvath. Vick Lackek, Sarah Navin, Whispell and Mahon had three hits apiece for the Black Knights. Dallas 5, Wyoming Seminary 1 Apr. 25 — Sara Sweptson tossed a complete-game four hitter and struck 13 Sem bat- ters. Nikki Gelso had two hits for the Mountaineers, who scored three runs in the second inning to take control. Lauren Collini and Cory Patton rapped dou- bles. Dallas 17, MMI O (3 innings) Apr. 22 — Allie Evans was perfect for three innings and the Lady Mounts teed off on MMi pitching, invoking the 10-run rule. Lacey Devin, Lindsey McCabe and Kassie Backus went 2-for-2 for Dallas, and Sara Sweptson hit an inside-the-park home run. Lake-Lehman 14, Seton Catholic 1 (5 innings) Apr. 22 — Sheree Horvath struck out nine and allowed only one hit, and went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and triple to lead the Lady Knights. Sarah Navin smacked two dou- bles and drove in four runs. GIRLS SOCCER Dallas 5, WVW 1 Apr. 27 — Melissa Gorski had a goal and an assist as Dallas recovered from an early 1-0 deficit. Megan Savage, Megan McDonald, Kayla Caruso and Sammi Elston also scored. Jill Spring had an easy time in goal, needing to stop only six shots. Tunkhannock 3, Hanover 1 Apr. 22 — Amanda Barber scored twice and Laura DeSoo once to give the Lady Tigers their first win of the season. Goalkeeper Jamie Donahue stopped 12 shots. Lake-Lehman 7, Abington Heights 4 Apr. 21 — After trailing 2-1, the Lady Knights kicked it up a notch, scoring the next five goals. Julia Covert had a hat trick and an assist; Chrisse Kazmierski, Traci Ragukas, Caroline Motyka and Aime Sgarlat also scored for Lehman. Dallas 7, Crestwood 2 Apr. 21 — Melissa Gorski and Megan McDonald each scored two goals to lead the Lady Mounts. Also finding the net were Sammi Elston, Alia Pyros and Kiley Williams. Tunkhannock 105, Wyoming Area 43 Apr. 26 — Dezaray Distasio won the 100 and 200 while Shannon Hilsey (1600), Courtney Harvey (shot put), Laura DeSoo (pole vault), Carrie Kleinhans (discus), Mauri Anderson (long jump), Austin Thomas (800), Katie Rosengrant (3200) and Jeanele Romanowski (javelin) won events to lead Tunkhannock. Gracjan Kraszewski drove in two more runs after a single and two errors had loaded the bases. Mike Race scored on Dave Harding’s ground out and Kraszewski followed on anoth- er error. Eric Samanas stroked an RBI single and King drove in one more run to give the Mountaineers a 12-4 lead. Dallas turned two more errors, two walks and five hits into five eighth-inning runs. When the game was over, four Mountaineers had three or more RBI and seven scored at least twice. Not that Dallas was flawless; the Mountaineers committed five errors and Lambert, who went the distance, gave up four walks. Pat McHugh was the only Lehman player with two hits, including a solo homer in the fifth inning. : NORTHWEST LITTLE LEAGUE Pikes Creek Contractors 11, Ed Spencer Auto Parts 3 Pikes Creek Site banged out 13 hits in the victory.
