Teddy Bear Express stops in Trucksville Once Upon A Time Daycare, Dug Rd. Trucksville, is participating in the Teddy Bear Express project. The idea is to send a teddy bear or bears around the United States and Canada. The bears travel among family child care homes, day care centers, and schools to visit the children. The children will follow the bears on a map to track their trips, as a geography lesson. Teddy Bear Express takes place twice a year, in September and February. The bears spend one full week at each facility, bringing with them a photo album, journal, souvenirs, and a treat for the next day care on his/her route. The children bring in items from home such as toys, books and stickers to send on the trip. Once Upon A Time Daycare is a host to Kayla Bear, which will next visit Chula Vista, California. They also will have Darlington Bear visit. Darlington Bear will be starting out at Tulsa, Oklahoma and visiting places like Connecticut, Ohio, Virginia, then an Air Force Base in New Mexico before arriving here in late March. The children are looking forward to seeing what Kayla brings back in May.
