A trio of Dallas divers own medals on the girls’ side. Erica Lisses ‘was third (247.30), Whitney Bolton was fifth (242.25) and Sarah Rupert was sixth (231.70). Eby won the District 2 Class 2A diving title as a freshman and sophomore, and the com- petition establishes him as a solid pick to three-peat. “I could have fixed a lot of things, but I did OK,” said Eby, who finished fourth at last year’s state meet. “I need to work on some things and get them as good as I can for dis- tricts, and hopefully states after that.” Bolton was last year’s 2A dis- trict champ, but her score was impacted in this meet when she hit her hand on the board during a dive in the preliminary round of five dives. As a result, she could get no higher than a score of 2 on a scale of 10 from the five judges. While she was- n't badly injured, it severely hurt her chances of winning.
