Sobocinski wins Lupus Loop 5K run Staff report WILKES-BARRE John Sobocinski and Beth Rundell ran to victories in the 2004 Lu- pus Loop 5K Run on Sept. 26 in Kirby Park. Sobocinski, 36, of Dallas, broke the tape in 17 minutes and 52 seconds. He outran sec- ond-place finisher, Ken Staub, 24, of Hanover Township, by 51 seconds. Sobocinski ran for Dallas High School but now coaches track and field and cross coun- try at Lake-Lehman High School. Sobocinski ran behind the lead pack for the first 400 me- ters, then he made his move. Sobocinski said winning the Lupus Loop was special to him because a friend, the principal at Lake-Lehman Junior High School, Tracy Halowich, suffers from the chronic, inflammatory disease.
