His concert will feature a variety of or- gan music from classics to patriotic to hymn arrangements, including his own arrangement of the William Tell Overture. The Charlotte Observer called his music “unbelievably inspiring.” He is the designer of the organ at SUMC, and has played concerts all over the world for the past 30 years. A reception to meet the artist will follow the concert. i Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children, and are available at the church by calling 675-3616 or at the door the night of the concert. Lehman and Idetown churches merge The congregations of the Lehman and Idetown United Methodist churches have merged together as one. The announcement was formally made by the Rev. Brolin Parker at this year’s annual conference. The newly formed Lehman-Idetown Unit- ed Methodist Church has been meet- ing at the Idetown Church over the summer months, and will return to Lehman on September 5. Worship at 10:30 a.m., is led by Pastor Nancy L. Russell. The Lehman-Idetown UMC Sun- day School will be held at the Lehman Church and will begin its fall session on Sept. 5 at 9:30 a.m. There will be a special event on September 12, “The Annual Bike Parade.” Chil- dren are to decorate their bikes, bring them to Sunday School,and pa- rade around the church. The bike pa- rade will be followed by a special children’s worship service, which will include “Moving Up Day” followed by Bible presentations to those chil- dren entering the third grade. Imme- diately afterward, a picnic lunch of hot dogs will be served. All food will be provided. Visitors and newcomers are welcome.
