Public instrumental concerts at Fellowship Evangelical Church Fellowship Evangelical Free Church in Dallas is providing a free and un- usual instrumental concert series for the community at its Family Life Cen- ter facility on the church campus at 45 Hildebrandt Rd., Dallas. World Class Harpist Greg Buchanan will open the series on Sunday, June 27 at 7 p.m. His aggressive style of playing usu- ally redefines the listener’s concept of performance on the harp. Buchanan celebrated 20 years of music ministry in 2003. As a young man, he spent four years in the United State Naval Band. Greg is the first harpist in the world to own and play the electronic grand harp developed and handcraft- ed by Lyon & Healy Harps of Chica- go. Jamie Jorge, master violinist, will appear Sunday, July25 at 7 p.m. Jamie has traveled around the world many times, having performed for kings, premiers and presidents, and in some of the most famous concert halls in the world. The series will conclude Saturday, August 21, with a performance at 8:30 p.m. by Emmy Award trumpeter Chiz Rider. Ninety percent self taught, he began by imitating songs he heard on the radio. He has recorded six albums since he was 15 years old in 1989. BMT Ministerium summer Bible Study A community Bible Study spon- sored by the Back Mountain Minis- terium will be held this summer every Wednesday through August 11 at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Dallas. The study will meet at noon and 7 p.m. and will cover the Book of Acts, led by a different pastor each week (same lesson at each time). The King’s Brass presents a varied program including hymn and patriotic classics with a contemporary flair and features three trumpets, three trombones, a tuba, percussion and keyboards.
