Back Mountain 13's stay unbeaten The Back Mountain 13's stayed undefeated with wins over Ply- mouth and Hazleton last week, to run their record to 9-0. Josh Backes had two doubles to lead the way in the 13-2 win over Ply- mouth. Scott Skammer, Michael Eckman, Derek Martin, and Chris Klaiss had two hits apiece. Bobby Peron picked up the won striking out 12 in five innings. Peron picked up the win again as the 13’s crushed Hazleton 10- 1. Peron allowed only one hit over five innings and struck out eight, and also added three hits. Josh Backes led the offense with two hits, along with Henry Messinger and Chris Klaiss. DYB stars win CYC Back Mountain Junior Legion moves to 4-2 The newly formed Back Mountain Junior American Le- gion improved their record to 4-2 with wins over Hazleton and Plymouth. This team con- sists of players age 13 to 15 that live in the Dallas and Lehman school districts. Joe Bevevino took a no hitter in the fifth inning as the Hawks rolled past Hazleton 13-1." Jon Janerich and Michael Prater each homered in the win, and Tom Parrish was a homer away from the cycle for the vic- tors. Matt Ruch also added two hits.
