For many girls, ol Scout Camp Louise “open house May 17 The Girl Scouts of Penn's Woods will hold an open house at Camp Louise on May 17 from 12 noon until 5 p.m. Camp Louise is situated on 380 acres of scenic’ woods and lakes just outside of Berwick. Camp sessions begin at the end of June and registrations for scouts and non-scouts are now being accepted. The open house is an opportu- nity for girls and their families and friends to see the grounds and meet some of the staff, which includes trained coun- selors from the United States ‘and around the world. This year's Share The Adventure theme features traditional camp favorites like hiking, swimming, boating and crafts, as well as progressive programs to spark the interests and imaginations of a 'week at camp is made possible by the generosity of others. Families and friends can purchase gift certificates fot camp sessions or for use at the camp Trading Post in any denomination they wish. Gift certificates are available at the Wilkes-Barre Service Center Sales Shop desk. Registration for Share the Ad- venture: Summer 2003 Camp Programs at Camp Louise is now open for all Girl Scouts and non- scouts. Lumia is the 18th recipient of the Distinguished Leadership award, which is given for excep- tional leadership in the commu- nity and for commitment to Leadership Wilkes-Barre. Lumia is a 1994 graduate of Leadership Wilkes-Barre and the CEO and General Partner of Maslo Lumia Bartorillo, an award-winning design and ad- vertising firm. She is a graduate of Wyoming Seminary, Cornell University, and attended both the Sorbonne and the Middle- bury College Language program. Her most recent service to this community was editing the book “Got Verse,” an anthology of 49 local and regional poets. Lumia is a member of the Board of the Luzerne Foundation and serves as chair of the distribution com- mittee, which is responsible for the planning and. disbursement of Luzerne Foundation grants to dozens of local and regional pro- grams.
