Civil War Roundtable to host historian At January's monthly meeting of the Wyoming Valley Civil War Round Table, Dr. Sheldon Spears of Luzerne County Com- munity College, will present his program on “Local Civil War His- tory.” The meeting will-be on Thurs- day, January 16, at 7 p.m. at the Dallas American Legion, on Rt. 415. Dr. Spears graduated from Brooklyn College. and holds a Ph.D in history from New York University. He has authored several books on local history and gives lec- tures and informative discus- sions on Pennsylvania place names, the role of anthracite in the early American industrial revolution and the Civil War years in Wyoming Valley.
