She was a graduate of Coughlin High School and the Wilkes-Barre Business College. She was em- ployed as a secretary by the Penn Tobacco Co., Wilkes-Barre, and by Luzerne County Judge Jacob Schiffman. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and its quilting group, Wilkes-Barre. She was a member of the Serve Your City Club and was a Cub Scout Den Mother with Pack 98, Christ Lutheran Church, Wilkes- Barre. EDGAR LASHFORD U.S. Navy veteran of WWII Edgar J. Lashford, of Dallas, died Saturday December 14, 2002 at Geisinger Wyoming Val- ley Medical Center, Plains Town- ship. He was the former treasurer of Vulcan Iron Works, was secre- tary of Industrial Development and the president and CEO of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Cham- ber of Commerce. He served as member and president of the Lake-Lehman-Jackson School Board. He belonged to the Huntsville United Methodist Church and served on -many- committees in the Wyoming Con- ference.
