THE DALLAS POST ... Sports The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Thursday, August 15, 2002 9 nm El ar LE eT... a. .h.kA From the bullpen Timothy J. Raub Time for another stop ® long the career path I'd like to think I've constant- ly grown in life throughout my 25 years on this planet. And now it is time for me to ‘@row once again, and a change of pace has become necessary. I will be leaving my post as reporter /copy editor at The Dallas Post, effectively August 16 and will fulfill my dream of becoming a full-time sports writer at The Pottstown Mer- cury. But I would have never been able to do this if not the con- stant support and help from any people throughout the area. This is the time and a place in which I can now thank many of these people. ¢ To the sports department at the Times Leader (Jerry Kellar, John Erzar, Steve Sembrat, Kurt Knapek, Joe Petrucci and Brian Malina) — I can’t even egin to think of where my ca- veer would be without you guys. IFhave learned more about sports writing, dealing with people and life in general through your constant teaching and support. With your help I've been able to cover every sporting event possible and gain a passion for sports writ- ing I never thought I would have. Your support has im- proved my abilities immensely, nd the Times Leader newspa- per is truly lucky to have such a great group in charge of sports. * To the various people I've worked with in both the politi- cal and educational worlds in the Back Mountain — I know I haven't always been your fa- yorite person to hear on the @ her end of the telephone or see at the conclusion of a heat- ed debate, but your ability to recognize my objectivity has been truly professional. It is not easy to run a municipal govern- ment, school district or sports program, and I hope each of you will continue to strive for For many sports fans, the only season that matters is about to start at the high school level. Fall practice began Monday for all sports, the first time squads and coaches could get together as a unit. The Dallas football team was out at 8 a.m. for practice before the hot sum- mer sun got high in the sky.
