ER & $ 8 Saylor inducted into honor society Wilkes University junior Samuel Saylor was recently inducted into the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society. Beta Beta Beta is a society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to im- proving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific re- search. Since its founding in 1922, more than 175,000 persons have been accepted into lifetime membership, and more than 430 chapters have been established throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. The Theta Delta chapter was installed at Wilkes last year to honor and reward the academic achievements of biology majors. It is the only Tri-Beta chapter in northeast Pennsylvania. Saylor is a 1999 graduate of Lake-Lehman High School and the son of Bernard and Susan Saylor, Harvey's Lake. Sem Mock Trail team 6th in state The Wyoming Seminary Mock Trial team recently competed in the 2002 Statewide High School Mock Trial Competition in Harrisburg, placing sixth. The competition, sponsored by the Young Lawyers Di- vision of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, provides high school students with a firsthand experience of the American judicial sys- tem. The Sem team placed second in district competition held in Scranton, earning the right to compete at the state level. Mock trial teams argue a case before a judge and are evaluated based on their presentation, opening and closing arguments, direct Public invited to see DHS Indoor Guard The Dallas High School Indoor Guard competition team will pre- sent a public performance of their 2002 routine at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 14 in the high school gym- nasium. This year’s guard team consists of nine girls doing a rou- tine to “When You Come Back to me Again,” by Garth Brooks. The performance is free and open to the public. This year’s team is coached by Cassie Palfrey and the show was’ written by John Tag- gart.
