CEMETERY Lions honor Boris as ‘Student of the Quarter’ The Lake Silkworth Area Lions recently honored Lindsay Boris as Student of the Quarter from Lake-Lehman High School. Boris was presented with a monetary gift and a certificate in recog- nition of outstanding school and community achievement. Boris is president of the Student Council, a member of the Key Club, SADD and Junior Leadership of Wilkes-Barre. Her sports activities include field hockey and soccer. Boris plans to attend Brown University to further her education in biology and will play field hockey. She is the daughter of Frank and Susan Boris, Shavertown. Lake-Lehman grad spends semester in London Courtney Bouthot of Shaver- town, was one of 28 Susquehan- na University juniors who par- ticipated in the seventh annual London Program of the Sigmund Weis School of Business during the 2001 fall semester. The program is designed to provide students with an inter- national experience to develop and expand their learning capa- bilities and broaden their per- spectives about possible careers. While abroad, students complet- ed three business courses: quantitative business methods and operations management, European operations and man- New Mart contributes to Sem agement and organizational be- havior. They were also educated in British theatre, during which they attended a variety of plays. The students toured various businesses and banks in Eng- land, France and Germany. British theatre and European operations are exclusive to the London Program. Courses on British theatre and management and organizational behavior are taught by British professors. A marketing major at Susque- hanna University and 1999 graduate of Lake-Lehman High School, Bouthot is the daughter of Fernand and Judy Bouthot. Russell Newell, representative of New-Mart Newell Fuel Service Inc. in Trucksville, presented a check for $500 to John H. Burbank, Jr., Dean of Wyoming Seminary Lower School. The grant money came from the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Team and will be used to support R&R days. "Respect and Responsi- bility” days occur three times each year at the Lower School, follow- ing a theme such as "Be True to Your School," or "Responsibility for Myself: Overcoming Weaknesses with Strengths."
