The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Thursday, January 10, 2002 omimuil he first snowfall of the year proved to be a headache for some, but a welcome day off from school for many area children. Tthoughts of sleigh riding, snowball fights, snowboarding and skiing abounded in young minds, while dreaded nightmares of snow removal kept many Back Mountain residents out in the cold shoveling or snow blowing for the better part of January 7. The snow caused schools to be cancelled and slow moving traffic patterns, but that did not keep the parents and children from pulling out the winter gear in preparation for a day of fun in the snow in the Back Mountain.
