MORGAN Member of Eastern Star Clara Thomas Morgan, 89, of Blueberry Hill Road, Shavertown section of Kingston Township, formerly of Sam Rayburn, Texas, and Slatington, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001 at the Hospice Unit at Heritage House, Wilkes- Barre. Born: Sept. 4, 1912 in Staunton, Va., she was the daughter of the late Frederick A. and Elizabeth K. (McFall) Richcreek. She was a graduate of Mary Baldwin Seminary and Dunsmore Business College, both of Staunton. She was a . homemaker. She was of the Methodist Faith, a member of Eastern Star and did civic and church work. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Evan H. Thomas; and second husband, John Morgan. Surviving are her son, Dr. Evan H. Thomas Jr., Shaver- town; - stepson, Richard Morgan, Arizona; daughter, Cynthia D. Bossard, Colts Neck, N.J.; 13 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren. Nicely Jr., 68, of Warren Drive, Dallas, Oct. 2, 2001 died Tuesday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Town- ship. Born May. 2, 1933 in Luzerne, he was a son of the late Frederick W. and Esther (Conden) Nicely. He was a 1951 graduate of Kingston Township High School. He was a refrigeration and air condition technician with the Power Engineering Corp. for over 43 years. He served with the U.S. Navy and early in his career, he served with the Dallas Township police force. He was a member of the Huntsville United Methodist Church, where he was a trustee and member of its of- ficial board. He was preceded in death by his son, William F. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, the former Shirley Stroh; daughters, Rebecca Rios, Jenkintown; and San- dra McKenna, Allentown; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sister, Darla Jean Evans, Shaver- town, Kingston Township; and brother, Robert O., Shavertown. Kearney, age 91, of Overbrook Road, Dallas, formerly of Plymouth, died Fri- day evening, Oct. 12, 2001 at the Mercy Hospital, Wilkes- Barre. She was born in Plymouth, a daughter of the late Carl Wil- helm and Lucy Lewis Schimmel- busch. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School and the Pittston Hospital School of Nurs- ing. Prior to her retirement in 1976, she had worked as a reg- istered nurse in hospitals in New York City and Bethesda, Md., and the maternity depart- ment of the Mercy Hospital. Wilkes-Barre. Mrs. Kearney was a member of the First Welsh Baptist Church of Plymouth and its Ladies Aide Society, where she had spent many hours quilt- ing and preparing Welsh cookies with the group.
