Alderson United Methodist 25, Rage girls win 3-0n-3 crowns Rage Girls 3 on 3 basketball team won the championship of the 14/15 year old division of Roundball Ruckus 3-on-3 tournament held over the weekend at Lackawanna County Stadium. The Rage went 6-0 to win the title; they are now eligible to compete for the national title in Springfield, Mass. The Rage girls will be in the 15- year-old division, for nationals. A week earlier, the Rage girls won the championship of the North American Yough Sports Tournament held at the University of Scran- ton over the weekend. NE Attack U12 wins division Northeast Attack U 12 Boys team completed their spring travel sea- son in the Lehigh Valley Youth Soccer League, coming in first place in their division. They also came in third place in the Blue and Gray Cup in Gettysburg. Coached by Pat Castellani and Buddy Evers, members of the team include Jarrett Anistranski, Jason and Patrick Brady, Jared Castellani, Dominc DeSabatino, Kyle Loftus, Nick Sta- chowiak, Antonio Scotto, Nick Nakkache, Eric and Jesse Scharff, Josh Clay, Ben Gardner, Justin Rice, Greg Heindel, and Teddy Shi- lanski. For the Fall 2001 season, the boys will be playing on Sun- days in the Northeast Travel League. Their home fields are located in Forty Fort. Since the group will be splitting into two teams, a U 12 Boys and a U 13 Boys team, there are a few spots open on each team. Behind the solid pitching arms of Hunter Englehart, who had a no hitter in the final game, and Carson Baker, the team finished the season with an overall record of 17-1. The Astros offense was led by strong hitting from Ryan Naugle, An- drew Kaufman; Michael Ryan; Rich Reinard; and Wes Landers. De- fensively the team was led by outstanding performances from catch- er TJ Stepanski, outfielders Will Wilson and Drew Clouse, and hire baseman Jim Dalkiewicz.
