2 Dallas Post Dallas, PA April 25, 2001 OBITUARIES PROPERTY TRANSFERS Annette Cohen Meadows Nursing Home resident Annette Cohen, 98, formerly of Gateway Apartments, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at the Meadows Nursing Home, Dallas. Born Dec. 20, 1902, in St. James, Minn., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Dora (Pearlstein) Levin. She was a member of the first graduating class of Coughlin High School and volunteered for the Ameri- can Red Cross during World War II. She was a member of Temple B'nai B'rith, where she was a president of its Sisterhood. She was active in many charitable organizations, including Hadas- sah, Queen Esther Society and the Wilkes-Barre Chapter of the Jewish Home. She was also a member of the Order of the East- ern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis N.; brothers, Efferon, Alfred, Arthur and Ben- jamin Levin. Surviving are her daughter, Jewel Jacobs, Dallas; two grandchildren, one great- granddaughter and two great grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Library of the Israel Ben Zion Academy; or to a chari- ty of the donor's choice. Alice Sepanek Cook at St. Michaels School Alice M. Sepanek, 66, of RR 1, Harding section of Exeter Town- ship, died Monday, April 2, 2001 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hos- pital. Born in Thurston Hollow, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Lottie (Mack) White. Before retiring, she worked for Phillips Seafood Co., Exeter, and the Christmas Tree Factory, Harding, and last was a cook at St. Michael's School, Wyoming County. She was a member of the Church of the Holy Re- deemer, Harding, and Exeter Township Women’s Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; brother, Roy White; and sister, Gloria Dy- mond. Forlenza, 90, former- ly of West Pittston and Shaver- town, Kingston Township, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born :-Aug. 10, 1910, in Pittston, he was a son of the late Filomeno and Fiorita (Blancoli) Forlenza. He attended Pittston schools. He worked for the Ma- son Dixon Co., before retiring in 1972, and worked part-time for Cenera Auto Parts and Insalaco’s Supermarkets. He was a mem- ber of Immaculate Conception Church and Goodwill Hose Co., both of West Pittston. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Carmel- la Serino; brothers, George and Sam; and sisters, Mary Ciampi, Connie Colella and Jenny Borzil- no. Louise Pack World War II veteran Louise (Collett) Pack, 90, of Springfield Residence, Wynd- moor, formerly of Port Street, Port St. Lucie, Fla., Kingston and Dallas, died Sunday, Aprillb, 2001, at Chestnut Hill Hospital, Chestnut Hill. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late George and Charlotte Stacey Collett. She was a 1928 graduate of Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, and studied nursing at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was a pri- vate duty nurse. She was a U.S. Nursing Corps veteran of World War II, serving as a lieutenant. She was active in many civic ac- tivities, including the League of Women Voters. She was presi- dent of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Auxiliary and founded the Pink Ladies of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of St. Clement and St. Peter, Wilkes-Barre, Women of Rotary, and Wyoming Valley Westmore- land Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William John. Surviving are her daughter, Elizabeth ‘Penny’ Pack Holmes, Flourtown; and three grandsons. Paul Meyers Brother of Hunlock Creek man Paul A. Meyers, 81, of Maple Street, Hinsdale, Mass., died March 26, 2001, at the Berk- shire Medical Center, Pittsfield, Mass. Born July 26, 1919, in Beaver Brook, N.Y., he was a son of the late Ernest and Charlotte ""Lot- tie” (Young) Meyers. He attended Van Horn School, Hunlock Township. He was a 1936 grad- uate of Harter High School, West Nanticoke, received an associ- ate’s degree in engineering from Bucknell University Junior Col- lege, Wilkes-Barre, and bachelor of science degree in electrical en- gineering. He worked for in the Transformer Department at General Electric Co., Pittsfield, and was involved with develop- ment and engineering design, especially transformer design and test of equipment for the U.S. government plant at Oak Ridge, Tenn. (Manhattan Project) and field testing. He was also a professional consultant for Elec- trical Mutual Insurance Co. He was a member of the First Con- gregational Church, Hinsdale. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, the former Emilie O. Fly- nn; sons, Robert B., Windsor, Mass.; Donald R., Chester, Mass.; Gerald A., Sandy, Utah; and Thomas A., Alhambra, Calif.; daughter, Sandra E. Matthews, Jacksonville, Fla.; 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grand- children; and brother, Raymond, Hunlock Creek. Following cremation, burial will be in the Maple Street Cemetery, Hinsdale, at a later date.
