NS SSE SE SES Need More Space: Business or Personal DALLAS SELF STORAGE Martin (continued from page 1) has lived at the Meadows since April 1997. Mrs. Martin has one son, Frederick, who lives in Albu- querque, New Mexico. He served in the Navy as a meteorologist for 42 years. She has three grandchildren, Stephen, John and Elaine. Her son, who is spending the week with her, gave some insight into his moth- er’s life. “She was a prolific quil- ter in her day,” he said. “She loved to do quilting at - the church with her friends, and she would often quilt at home by herself. She must have made several hundred quilts in her lifetime. She liked to travel all over the United States. Now she enjoys receiving visits from her family, church women’s group, and former students.” During the birthday celebra- tion, Jamie Stott, general man- ager of the food service depart- ment at the Meadows Assisted Living facility, presented Mrs. Martin with a birthday cake from the women’s group at her church, and led the singing of Happy Birthday in her honor. When all of her friends were getting ready to leave at the end of the party, Mrs. Martin thanked everyone for coming .and asked them to come back again next year to celebrate with her. “I had a wonderful time,” she said. The family, led by her son Fred and grandson John, had plans for yet another celebration later in the day at a dinner party in her honor at Pickett’'s Charge.
