College Misericordia slates open house College Misericordia invites high school students and their parents to the annual spring open house at its Dallas campus. Open house will be held on Saturday, March 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The College offers students an opportunity to spend a fun and infor- mative day touring the facilities, meeting Misericordia students and faculty, and talking with admissions counselors and staff. Misericordia receives Kresge grant College Misericordia has received a $300,000 Kresge Foundation challenge grant to be applied toward the college's ongoing Advancing the Vision campaign. This major campaign is designed to raise $3.5 million to renovate portions of the college's historic administration building, reconstruct athletic fields to accommodate new sports such as lacrosse, and in- crease Misericordia's endowment. Misericordia Players to perform children's play The College Misericordia Players will present the children's play “A Terrible Tale of a Dreaded Dragon” on Friday, April 6 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 7 at 2 p.m. and at 7 p.m. in the college's Walsh Audi- torium. This fun-filled theater event is suitable for pre-school, kinder- garten and first grade students. The play revolves around a hideous dragon, rumored to be stealing rice and terrorizing people throughout the peaceful kingdom. Every- one but brave little Peng is afraid to go outside. Peng answers the call from the Emperor and Empress to rid the kingdom of the dragon. Peng discovers that the dragon is more like a puppy and finds the real thief of their rice. However, to succeed, he calls upon the children of the kingdom (and the audience) to help him find the dragon. The play deals with the issues of stereotypes, facing one's fears and the importance of democracy. Tickets are $2 each at the door. For ticket information, call 674- 6719. Come to the Lake-Lehman Cabaret The Lake-Lehman Band and Chorus will present their fourth annu- al Cabaret Friday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lake-Lehman High School Cafeteria. Students to display Alaska project The Lake-Noxen Elementary third grade will display “Alaska” pro- jects the students have been working on.
