| | I 6 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, November 22, 2000 ~ Agricultural land preservation applications now being accepted The Luzerne County Agricul- tural Preservation Board is ac- cepting applications to the Agri- cultural Preservation Program for the 2001 round. The deadline for submitting applications is Febru- ary 1, 2001. Property owners who are cur- rently in the process of having their property become part of an Agricultural Security Area (ASA) can submit their applications. However, no purchases can be made of these properties until the ASA has been formally recorded with the Luzerne County Recorder of Deeds and the Department of Agriculture. The purpose of the Agricultural Preservation Program is to pro- tect and promote the continued agricultural use of valuable farm- lands through the purchase of conservcation easements. In this way, the farms will remain farms and not be lost to residential or commercial development. Those interested in applyoing should contact Ms. Nancy Snee, Board Administrator, Luzerne County Planning Commission Office, at 825-1560. % 1 1 Phyllis’ Beauty Salon. MR. AND MRS.
