She was a life resident of Leh- man Township, daughter of the late Eugene and Ellen Stephens Lamoreaux, and was a graduate of Lehman High School. Mrs. Nulton was a member of Lehman United Methodist Church and the Ladies Country Bowling League, Dallas. Her husband, Edgar, brothers, Alden and Carl, sisters, Ellen Randall, Myrtle McCulloch, Louisa Haislop and Nancy Lamoreaux, preceded her in death. She is survived by sister, Janet Lamoreaux, with whom she re- sided; brother, Alfred, Denver, Colo. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Dallas. AGNES GAINES Agnes Ann Gaines, 82, of Forty Fort, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hos- pital. BorndJuly 3, 1917, in Forty Fort, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Frances (Meeker) Dix. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W.; son, Thomas W., VI; and grandson, Nicholas G. Surviving are daughters, Nanna Lee Zapusek, with whom she re- sided; Nancy Ann Soltis, Dallas; son, Ernest G., Lewistown, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Interment will be in Forty Fort Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Stella Presbyterian Church. RUBY R. MONROE Ruby R. Monroe, of Holiday, Fl., died Saturday, April 15, at the age of 89, in Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital in Tarpon Springs, FI. She had been a resident of Holi- day since 1974. She was born in Noxen, PA, on April 15, 1911, and graduated from Noxen High School in 1929. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She leaves a son, Larry of Acton, MA; two grandchildren: Jean of Somerville, MA, and Michael, of Maynard, MA; a brother, Laurence E. (Bill) Race, of Noxen; and three sisters: Alice Yellitz, Port Richey, 'Fl.; Hazel Casterline, Dallas: and Beatrice Gobel, Noxen. Interment will be in Orcutt's Cemetery, Noxen. DOROTHY JESSO Dorothy E. Jesso, 82, of Ply- mouth, died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at her home. Born in Plymouth, she was a daughter of the late John and Abbie (Gilroy) Morgan. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; brothers, Stewart and James; and sister, Lois Owens. Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Long, Shickshinny Lake; sons, Stephen and Dave, both of Plymouth; and Thomas, Orange; 10 grandchildren; six great-grand- children; sister, Sarah Strausser, Trucksville; brothers, John, Shickshinny Lake; Robert, King- ston Township; and Edward, New- ton, Iowa; nieces and nephews. Interment will be in Shawnee Cemetery, Plymouth. WALTER J. TRUSCOTT Walter J. Truscott, 82, of Dal- las, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at home. He was born in West Wyoming, son of the late Josef and Anna Vasvenski Truskowski, and was a graduate of Wyoming High School. An Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam era, he received two Purple Hearts. Mr. Truscott was employed by the Luzerne County Treasurer's Office and clerk. He was a member of Trucks- ville United Methodist Church; life member of the Greater West Side Chapter 102, Disabled Ameri- can Veterans; past Patron Order of the Eastern Star, Dallas Chap- ter 396. Brothers, Josef, Anthony and Roman Truskowski, sisters, Stella Griglock and Sophie Minek, pre- ceded him in death. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, the former Bette R. Mathers; sons, John G., Le Roy, NY; Dr. James W., Centermoreland; four grandchildren. Interment will be in Cedar Crest Cemetery, Trucksville. Crackett, 67, of Laflin, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000, at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas. Mr. Crackett was born Feb. 26, 1933, in Wilkes-Barre, son of the late John and Dorothy Wardle Crackett. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and attained the rank of private first class prior to his discharge in 1952. He received the Purple Heart. Brothers, William and James, sisters; Mary Ann, and Elizabeth Drylie, preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, the former Maureen Finarelli; sons, John, Camp Hill; Thomas, Exeter; stepsons, Richard Osick, Plains; Robert Osick, Dallas; stepdaugh- ter, Jo AnnBaldo, Laflin; 10 grand- children. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. ALMERIAN C. EDWARDS Almerian C. "Curt" Edwards, 77, of Dallas, died Sunday, April 23, 2000. He was born in Parsons, son of the late Almerian C. and Helen Dann Edwards, and was a 1940 graduate of Dallas Township High School. Mr. Edwards resided in Dallas most of his life, and was a member of Centermoreland United Meth- odist Church, and the American Rose Society. He was an avid gardener. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Army Air Corps. His brothers, Frank and John, preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, the former Ida Schoonover; daugh- ters, Connie Higgins, Easton; Dr. Gail Evans, Dallas; sisters, Helen Besteder, Centermoreland; Betty Rogler, Endicott, NY; eight grand- children.
