Mokychic, 82, of Shav- ertown, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Mercy Center, Dallas, where she had been a guest. She was born in Allentown, daughter of the late Ashton and Ellen Nicholson Smith. Mrs. Mokychic had served as a registered nurse in the Navy dur- ing World War II. Prior to mar- riage, she was employed as a pri- vate duty nurse at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was a member of St. Clem- ent and St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Wilkes-Barre. Brother, Robert Smith; sister, Virginia Ahrendts and Janice Sevison, preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Dr. Walter E.; nieces and nephews. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township. Hadsel, 84, of Idetown, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at Lakeside Nursing Cen- ter, Harveys Lake. She was born Feb. 28, 1916, in Lake Township, daughter of the late Atlee and Hazel Hoover Kocher. Mrs. Hadsel was employed by the former Natona Mills (Native Textiles), Dallas, for 25 years, re- tiring 12 years ago. She was a member of Idetown United Methodist Church, and its Ladies Society. She also taught Sunday school and was Sunday school treasurer. Her husband, Alfred, died in 1980. Son, A. Lynn, grandson, Mark D. Hadsel, brother, Millard Kocher, also preceded her in death. Surviving are son, Carlton B., Idetown; daughter, Carol A., Harveys Lake; one grandson; sis- ter, Hildreth Traver, Ruggles. Interment will be in Idetown Cemetery, Lehman Township.
