Peter Crynes led the joined congregations through readings and prayers for the advancement of unit. “A Com- mon Statement of St. Paul's and St. Therese's Churches” was signed by both pastors and read to all present. Born in Swoyersville, he was a son ol the late Andrew and Julia (Fosko) Rusnak. He was a 1941 graduate of Swoyersville High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, having served in the European Theater. Before his retirement, he was employed by Sterling Enterprise. He was a member of St. Nicho- las Byzantine Church in Swoyersville, a member and past commander of Veterans of For- eign Wars Post 283 in Kingston, and a member of the Military Or- der of the Cooties, the American Legion in Dallas and the Disabled American Veterans. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Gaydos, Anna Peregrini, Adele Stockwell and Margaret Blissett. McGuire, 69, of Trucksville, Kingston Township, died Nov. 7, 1999, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born Sept. 22, 1930, in Wilkes- Barre, he was a son of the late William and Marguerite (Prout) McGuire. He was a 1949 graduate of Meyers High School, Wilkes-barre. Before his retirement, he was employed 20 years, by Diamond Manufacturers, Wyoming, hold- ing the position of vice president of sales and marketing. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Alice Brennan, and sister, Alice McGuire.
