Lehman got on the board with a 15-yard TD strike from D.J. Kapson to Gregg Woronko before the half, then scored four times in the second half. In photos, Kapson took off on a keeper, top left. Justin Brink looked for daylight, lower left. He ran twice for 11 yards and caught two passes for 42 yards. Josh Kuwaye, below, scored on a 49-yard run. He had 61 rushing yards in all. The Black Knights defense may have been the biggest factor, though, holding the Warriors to five first downs and 153 total yards, while causing six fumbles and intercepting three passes. Heffron is a sophomore at the university and a graduate of Dallas Senior High School. Craft fair for Dallas Soccer The Dallas High School Soccer Club is spon- soring the annual Fall Craft Show on Sunday, Oct. 3, at the Dallas Senior High School from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 100 vendors from Pennsylvania and New Jersey will be repre-, sented selling various crafts including semi- precious gemstone jewelry, needlework, candles, ceramics, potpourri, quilts, stenciled lamp shades, woodcrafts, wreaths, handmade dolls and homemade candy. Dallas went to Clarks Summit and came back with a hard-fought 1-0 victory. iy ry : Harveys Lake White Dragons entertain at senior facility Residents of the Mountainside Manor assisted care facility in Dallas were treated to a demonstration of Chinese martial arts by the Harveys Lake White Dragon team. The White Dragon demo team consisted of students Eric Kyttle, April K. Snyder, Michael Weisenbacher, Trevor Kupstas, Peg Thomas and was led by William Lamoreaux. The team demonstrated classical movements of Pai Lum system of martial arts. Residents also were shown Chinese strength cultivation exercise, punches, blocks and kicking routines, self defense, weaponry, and Tai Chi Chuan. Janelle Perlis scored three times, | Alyson Bevan netted two and Corin Smith added one goal. Bevan also picked up two assists. Lehman dominated every statis- tic, getting 16 corners to one, and 42 shots to five, none of which reached the E goal. Fol Dallas 2, Coughlin 1 Jenn Noon scored unassisted in the first half and fed the winner to Sherri Kuderka with 10 minutes to play. Dallas had only 10 shots, while Coughlin had 17, but goalkeeper Melonie Sappe stoppe g 11 of them. 3 Lake-Lehman 11, Northwest Area 0 Janelle Perlis scored three goals and assisted on a fourth in just over ten minutes of action as the Black Knights notched a blowout victory over North- west last Tuesday. Alyson Bevan fin- ished with her sceond straight hat trick to start the season for Lehman also. Goalkeepers Janel Janiczek and Kori Clark each made one save to earn the split shutout. Meredith Edwards added three second half assists. Lake-Lehman 1, Seminary 0 : Terri Peiffer scored off an assist from Janelle Perlis just before the 15 minute mark of the second half as Lehman de- 5 feated the Blue Knights on their home | field Sept. 10. Janel Janiczek recorded the shutout, stopping 12 shots. Lehman made the most of its shots, as Seminary outshot Lehman 13 to 5. Dallas 8, Wallenpaupack 0 Senior Jennifer Noon put the ball in the net twice and assisted on four other scores as Dallas improved its record to 2- 0. For the second straight game, Dallas held its opponent scoreless. Melonie | Sappe and Erin Swepson combined to stop all six Wallenpaupack shots. Molly Savage scored the first goal of the game for Dallas and assisted on another. Crestwood 2, Dallas 1 (OT) ? Dallas played inspired hockey but even- tually fell to league power Crestwood in sudden death overtime in a classic game played on Thursday. Molly Savage's third goal of the season tied the game at the |! end of the first half. The teams playeda - scoreless second half, which called for a sudden death overtime period to be played. Mountaineer goalie Melonie Sone i made 10 saves in the loss. a Dallas 8, Elk Lake 2 x Jennifer Noon scored three goals and assisted on another as the Mountaineers again displayed some offensive potency. Brittany Bartolini added two more goals and three assists as Dallas took a 5-1 lead into the half. Sophomore Kate Benedetti scored the first goal of the game 3 minutes into play. Carrie Strasser and Sherri Kuderka also scored, with Kuderka's coming on a penalty stroke. SOCCER Lake-Lehman 4, Bishop Hoban 2 # The Black Knights opened their sea- son with a come-from-behind win at | Bishop Hoban. After falling behind 2-0, Lehman rallied with four straight goals, three coming in the second half. Tony | Van Scoy led the comeback with a pair of goals and an assist. Sophomore David Walters added the other two tallies, one coming on a penalty shot. Lehman outshot the Argents by a 30-4 margin. = | Lake-Lehman 0, Valley West 0 (OT) Ina game between the two top teams i in the Wyoming Valley Conference, 100 minutes of play was not enough to decide awinner as the game ended in a scoreless deadlock. The game featured 11 yellow cards and two red cards. Lehman goalie Russ Mosier made nine saves to earn the shutout. Dallas 8, Bishop O’Reilly 1 Sophomore Ryan Love notched a hat trick and an assist in the Mountaineers’ debut as they easily cruised to a blowout win over Bishop O'Reilly. Adam Clay contributed with an assist and a pair of goals. Senior captain Jesse Williams and sophomore Andrew George each scored E once and assisted on one. Dallas outshot O'Reilly 27-7. Dallas 1, Abington Heights 0 Dallas sophomore Tim Faneck got past two defenders and scored in the first half to lead Dallas to a tough victory at Abington Sept. 9.
