Dallas, PA Wednesday, September 8, 1999 7 IS Dallas opens childcare registration ~The Child Care classes at Dal- las Senior High School are pre- paring projects and activities for an afternoon session of Nursery School for three and four year olds. The school will begin on Monday, Oct. 18, and continue until May 19. Classes will be held three days a’ week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The children will participate in group and individual activities, story hour, snacks, crafts, gym, music as well as free play. A calendar and additional informa- tion will be provided at registra- tion. Parents of children who will be three or four years old before Sept. 30, 1999 may register their child at the senior high office between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. through Sept. 15. The children and parents must be residents of the Dallas School District. Enrollment is limited to 18 children, the pro- gram is free of charge. If there are any questions please contact the school office at 674-7208. Dallas MS hosting Back-to-School Night Dallas Middle School parents and guardians are invited to attend “Back-to-School Night” at the Dallas Middle School on Wednesday, Sept. 15, from 7-9 p.m. Parents will have an opportunity to meet their children’s teachers and experience the programs offered at each grade level. Parents are to report directly to the auditorium. The staff at the Dallas Middle School believes that effective parent- teacher communication is essential in enhancing student success. All parents are urged to attend this initial meeting of the school year. At the conclusion of the program, refreshments will be served. Lake-Lehman HS holding Back-to-School Night Lake-Lehman High School will host Back to School Night on Monday, Sept. 13 from 7-9 p.m. Parents will be following their child’s schedule which will be di- vided into eight-10 minute inter- vals, beginning promptlyat 7 p.m. with five minute period placed between each class to allow for travel. It is imperative that par- ents obtain their child's schedule in order to meet their teachers, and have the opportunity to re- ceive an overview of the material that will be covered. Two special sessions will also be held in the auditorium regard- ing Lake-Lehman’s state man- dated “senior projects”. All se- niors are required to complete a ‘major project in order to graduate . from high school and must present their experience to members of their faculty /community during ! bo ies a senior interview. Rayburn to perform at PSU Mike Rayburn, winner of America’s Best Acoustic Act for three years straight and the “1998 Entertainer of the Year” accord- ing to Campus Activities Today (CAT) magazine, will bring his unique blend of music and humor to Penn State Wilkes-Barre Thurs- day, Sept. 16 at noon in the stu- dent commons building. Rayburn began his career in the college/coffee house circuit, blending comedy, music and truly masterful acoustic guitar. He has since released three albums on his own Dry River Records label. Lehman-Jackson PTA hosting tea social 'Kids Klubs' begin Sept. 16 Children 18 months to 5 years will find something fun and edu- cational at the 1999-00 season of KIDS KLUBS including: the origi- nal Mom & Me Club, Tumblebear Club, and Kinderarts Klub. All programs are offered in 6- week themed sessions beginning Sept. 16, in Trucksville, using the bright and kid-safe studios at Major Performing Arts Center. Tumblebear Club is designed for children 24-42 months, with lots of tumbling fun, mat exer- cises and games. All Klubs are held daytime, and class size is limited.
