Davies, 83, of Church Street in Dallas, died May 17, 1999, at his home following an illness. Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Bruce S. Davies Sr. and Bessie (Yeager) Davies. He graduated from Forty Fort High School in 1933 and from Penn State University where he received an associate's degree in mechanical engineering. -He served in World War II, in China , Burma and India Theater with the Army Engineers Corps., combat. engineers building the Ledo Road. ; Before retiring, he was em- ployed by Royer Foundry and Machine Co., Kingston. He re- sided on Church St., Dallas for more than 50 years. He was a 50 year member of the Dallas United Methodist Church; member of Kingston Lodge 395, F&AM; Caldwell Consistory and Irem Temple Shrine for over 50 years. He was a founder of the Greater Northeast Pennsylvania Basha on the CBI Veterans Asso- ciation. He was also an officer for the Greater Northeast Audubon Association. He was a registered in Boy Scouts for 72 years, receiving numerous honors including the Silver Beaver and Silver Cross. He served on the Eagle Board of Review, was District Training Commissioner for the Back Moun- tain, and was the Scoutmaster of Troop 281. He was also elected to the order of the Arrow, where he received his Vigil Honor. He was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Irene (Brace) Davies; son, Bruce S. Davies III, Bolton, CT; sister, Elizabeth McGown, Cooperstown, NY; three grand- children; several nieces and neph- ews. Funeral services will be at noon Thursday from the Hugh B. Hughes Funeral Home, 1044 Wyo- ming Ave., Forty Fort with the Rev. Dr. William D. Lewis, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Fern Koll Burial Park, Dallas. (Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednésday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bruce S. Jones, 83, of Centermoreland, died May 15, 1999 at her home. Born Nov. 12, 1915 in New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Daniel O’Brien. She was a graduate of New Jersey schools. Before retiring in 1975, she was employed as a psychiatrie aide at the Clarks Summit State Hospi- tal. She was a memberof Church of the Holy Redeemer, Harding, Exeter Township, and Falls Town- ship Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Jones and stepson, John Krol. Surviving are her daughter, Geraldine Appleby, Centermoreland; brother, Patrick Daniel O'Brien, NJ; four grand- children; three great-grandchil- dren; nieces and nephwes. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery, Harding, Exeter Town- ‘ship. ALBERT SUTCAVAGE Albert Sutcavage, Sr., of Carverton Road in Kingston Town- ship, died May 15, 1999, at his home. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Walter and Catherine Wysocki Sutcavage. He atténded Coughlin High School and was a U.S. Army vet- eran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. He resided in Wilkes-Barre many years before moving to Trucksville 25 years ago. He was employed as a business representative for the Painters Union, Local 41, Wilkes-Barre. He later became the Northeast District Council 71 representa- tive until his retirement in 1989. He served as the president of the Board of Directors of the UFCW- - FCU in Wyoming. He was a member of Holy Trin- ity Church in Wilkes-Barre. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Wanda Fairty, Sophie Golomb, Mary Capek, Verne Ebert, Genevieve Hallady; brothers, Chester and Joseph Sutcavage. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, the former Rosemary Staskiel; daughter, Beth Ann McGivney, Edwardsville; son, Albert Jr., Agoura, CA; sister, Helen Suteavage, Wilkes-Barre; brother, Walter, Pittsburgh; one grandchild; nieces, and nephews. He was employed as a traffic manger for Air Products, in Emmaus from 1947 to 1956 and in Hanover Township from 1956- 1983, when he retired. He graduated from Wyoming Area High School. He attended Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, VA for two years and Williamsport Technical Institute for two years. He was employed as a plumber fof 20 years, retiring in 1996. He was preceded in death by his son, Warren A. Glatz. Born May 14, 1915, in Lehman Township, he was a son of the late Corey and Lydia (Brown) Meade. He was employed by the Glen Alden Coal Co. and was last em- ployed as a lineman for Common- wealth Telephone Co., for 28 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of Emmanuel Assembly of God Church at Harveys Lake, where he was in- volved in the Royal Rangers and served on the board of trustees.
