Penn State open house April 28 High school juniors and se- niors and their parents are in- vited to attend an Open House at Penn State Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the Center for Technology on the campus in Lehman. EER... i — O'Reilly spring concert April 24 and 25 Bishop O'Reilly High School, Kingston, will present its annual spring concert on Saturday and Sunday, April 24 and 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium. The concert will feature presentations from a full glee club, a chamber choir and a folk group. Among the selections to be offered are “Gloria in Excelsis,” by Vivaldi, “Every Time | Feel the Spirit,” (African-American spiritual), “Corner of the Sky,” from Pipin, “| Say a Little Prayer,” by Bacharach and “Go Forth With a Song”. The traditional Senior Waltz will be danced to “My Cup Runneth Over.” Program assistants are Margaret Chulvick, Jean Mooney, Linda Rakauskas and Steven Wise. Meet Lake Lehman school board candidates The Lehman-Jackson Parent Teacher Association will sponsor a “Meet the Candidates Night” to be held on April 28 at 7 p.m., in the Lehman-Jackson Elementary School Multi-purpose Room. ’ This non partisan forum is presented in an endeavor to acquaint the public with each candidate. Invitations will be extended to all candi- dates who will be running for open seats for School Board Directors. A moderator will be present to keep discussion guided towards relevant issues. Sale at Nearly-New Kids Shop The Nearly-New Kids Shop which is operated as a public service by United Methodist Women of the Trucksville United Methodist Church will hold a semi-annual sale in May. Offered for sale at $1 a bag (paper grocery bag) will be good used children’s clothing including jeans, shirts, T-shirts, shorts, blouses, dresses and sleep ware. Sizes range from infant through size 16. The shop will be open from 10 a.m. whit] Noon on May 1, 8, 15 and 22. and will be closed for the summer months and will reopen on September 11. All proceeds are used for the many mission projects of the United Methodist Women, local, national and global. Library reschedules Madeline's adventure Madeline's Adventures has been rescheduled for April 28, 11 a.m.at the Back Mountain Memorial Library. Music and story performed by Back Mt. Geiser attends forum on defense, diplomacy Kristin Geiser of Shavertown recently attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on De- fense, Intelligence, and Diplomacy in Washington, D.C. Kristin had the opportunity to attend seminars in the Pentagon, the Capitol, the State Department, the’ Supreme Court and Foreign Embassies. She was one of only 350 students nationwide chosen to participate. Her tuition was partially de- ferred by the Dallas School Board and St. Therese’s Church in Shav- ertown. As a junior at Dallas High School, she is a member of Who's Who Among American High School Students, Youth Salute, Student Council, Math Competition team, AIDS Awareness, Field Hockey team, Girls Select Chorus and the Gifted Program.
