Sed > The Dallas Post Section 2 April 7, 1999 Sports Lady Knights start slow, still have big goals Although the Lake-Lehman girls soccer team lost the first game of the spring season and tied the second, coach Jan Elston is optimistic the team will have a great season. Last year, Lake-Le- hman finished first in conference, firstin districts and second, out of 120 teams, in states. Elston feels the team’s greatest asset is the experience of the re- turning players and the potential talent of its newest members. Play- ers returning from last year in- clude Rachel Farley, Christian Roberts, Jen Frank, Trish Pilosi, Lauren Wasser, and Sara Rittenhouse, Additional key play- ers are Tara Mintzer, Jen Celusniak, Colby Smith, Alyson Bevan, Rachel Kasper, Kelley _ Spencer, Janelle Perlis, Jana Elston, and Courtney and Rachel Bouthot. Elston feels the team’s greatest weakness is the loss of many key players to graduation and inju- ries. Last year Lehman beat Wyo- ming Valley West in the district finals, and Elston feels Wyoming Valley West will provide Lake- Lehman's greatest opposition this season. Lake-Lehman, whose roster. consisted of approximately 28 players last year, has 37 players out this year. Nineteen of the of the 37 are varsity level players. by Kevin Curcio. It was a classic Back Mountain matchup Monday, as Lehman and Dallas finished in a 0-0 tie in girls soccer after two overtimes.
