O'Donnell has received : many honors at TIMOTHY O'DONNELL Sem including the 20th Century Book Award and the Ryken Hon- ors in grade 9, was named to the Dean’s List with High Honors all four years of high school, and for his senior year is an Advanced Placement Scholar, A Cum Laude Society member, and a Candidate sity swimmer for the Wyoming Seminary Blue Knights and was named District Champion in the 500-yard Free-Style, placed 8th in the 200 yd. Individual Medley and 5th in the 500 yard Free- Style at the States and received All-States Honors for swimming for the past four years. He was named Sem’s Most Valuable Player for swimming this year. O'Donnell is a member of the Model United Nations Team, was elected Co-Head Delegate and won the award for Superior Delegate and Most Accurate Presentation at the Lock Haven University Con- ference in grades 10and 11. Heis a member of the Honor Council, Peer - Group, and the Board of Student Appeals and has volun- teered with Sem’s English as a for the United States Naval Acad- emy. O'Donnell is a champion var- Second Language Program. O'Donnell expects to pursue a career in engineering or business. Weaver 2nd in Wilkes math contest ished tied for 8th place. The contestants competed for two scholarships to Wilkes Uni- versity valued at $60,000 each. More than 150 juniors and se- niors from 19 Luzerne County schools participated in the math competition. Three area students recently participated in the Wilkes Univer- sity Math Contest. Lake-Lehman senior Ken Weaver was awarded 2nd place. Christopher Riley, a junior at Dallas, placed in a tie for 7th and Dallas senior Aileah Kvashay fin- Dallas soccer craft show April 18 Space for vendors is still available for the annual Spring Craft Show that is sponsored by the Dallas High School Soccer Club. The craft show will be held on Sunday, April 18 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Soccer Club members will be selling lunch and baked goods throughout the day. Admission is free. Interested vendors can call Blanche George at 696-3578. 3rd graders help dialysis patients The students of Mrs. Nulton’s third grade class at Dallas Elementary School presented a large box of beverage pull tabs to Dialysis Patients Association of Jermyn, PA. The proceeds from the tabs will be used for patient transportation needs.
