Montessori to hold open house Feb. 26 The Wyoming Valley Montessori School, Kingston, will hold an Open House Friday, Feb. 26, 9:30-11 a.m. Staff and parent guides will give classroom tours at the Open House and will be available to answer questions about the school's programs and activities for children 18 months of age through seventh grade. The school is currently accepting applications for September enrollment. Beginning in March, Penn State Wilkes-Barre will offer technical workshops in Geometric Tolerancing and AutoCAD, Release 14. The two day workshop on Geometric Tolerancing will be held on Wed., and Thurs., March 3 and 4, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the campus in Lehman. Introductory and comprehensive workshops in AutoCAD, Release 14 for design and drafting will be offered beginning March 9 Hasay visits Head Start at Lake-Noxen Elementary Children attending the Head Start early childhood development program at Lake-Noxen Elemen- tary School had a special visit from State Representative George C. Hasay recently. Representative Hasay joined the children for lunch in the school cafeteria and then returned with them to their classroom to read twobooks. Hasay serves the 117th district, covering a large area of western Luzerne County. He is a strong “supporter of the Commonwealth's Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) which provides quality health in- surance for children of working families who otherwise could not afford it.The class’s teacher is Tina Giuliani, assisted by Charlotte Williams. The ending activity was to learn about how the ancient hieroglyphic writing system worked. Using the ancient hieroglyphic symbols the students created their own personal cartouches containing their name.
