2 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, February 3, 1999 DISTRICT COURT BRIEFS Dallas man faces weapons charge James Prideaux, 57, RR 1, Box 148 , Dallas, was arrested Dec. 5 by Dallas Township patrolman Robert Jolley after police were called to Offset Paperback, Inc. to deal with a man carrying a gun in the parking lot. Upon arrival, Mike Ignatz told police that Prideaux followed him into the parking lot and after approaching the WKRZ radio truck Ignatz was driving, began to wave a gun around and ask that a message be put on the air, according to police reports. The gun and ammunition were turned over to the state police after police were alerted to them by Bob Williams, a bail bonds- man. Prideaux gave a written statement to police stating that he was not going hunting or fish- ing and followed Ignatz into Offset Paperback, Inc. He was charged with carrying a firearm without a license.” Related charges of reck- lessly endangering another per- son and disorderly conduct were dismissed. D.U.I. CHARGES The following people waived their right to a preliminary hear- ing before District Justice James Tupper: * Plains resident David Kenning, 21, arrested Oct. 25 by Kingston Township patrolman Wade Curtis after police were called to an accident on Rt. 309 near Rider's World. After failing field sobriety tests, Kenning was taken to -Wilkes- Barre General Hospital where his blood alcohol level was determined to be .189. He was charged with driving under the influence of al- cohol and careless driving. * Dallas resident Christopher J. Shultz, 30, arrested Oct. 14 by Dallas Borough patrolman Michael Prokopchak after police observed him driving erratically on Rt. 415. After failing field sobriety tests, Shultz was taken to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital where his blood alcohol level was determined to be .153. He was charged with driv- ing under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended or re- voked license and careless driv- ing. A related charge for disre- garding a traffic lane was dis- missed. e Harveys Lake resident Scott Roberts, 30, arrested Oct. 31 by Dallas Township patrolman Brian Feeney after police observed him driving erratically on Rt. 415. After failing field sobriety tests he was taken to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital where his blood alcohol level was determined to be .133. He was charged with driv- ing under the influence of alcohol and disregarding a traffic lane. e Dallas resident James Prideaux, 57, arrested Nov. 22 by Dallas Borough patrolman Will- iam Norris after police observed him driving erratically on Rt. 309. After failing field sobriety tests, Prideaux was taken to Wilkes- Barre General Hospital where his blood alcohol level was determined ‘to be .098. He was charged with driving under the influence of al- cohol. A related charge of care- less driving was dismissed. e Dallas resident Christopher J. Morris, 23, arrested Nov. 1 by Dallas Borough patrolman James Martin after police were called to the scene of a two-car accident near Mr. Z's Foodmart in Dallas. After failing field sobriety tests, Morris was transferred to Wilkes- Barre General Hospital where his blood alcohd] level was determined to be .047 and a toxicology test was positive for marijuana. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and con- trolled substance and careless driving. A related charge of pos- session of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. *« Springville resident Gail Cowher, 38, arrested Aug. 17 by Dallas Borough patrolman James Martin. She was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and failing to yield at a roadway. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF Dallas resident John Crispell, 21, was arrested Jan. 14 by Dal- las Township patrolman Wayman Miers after police received a com- plaint that two people on snow- mobiles were damaging property on Haddonfield Hills. After a lengthy foot pursuit by police through the woods near the Dal- las Township Police Station, Crispell was caught. He was charged with resisting arrest, es- cape, criminal mischief and loi- tering at night. RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY Shickshinney resident Matthew Faux, 25, was arrested Jan. 27 by state trooper Joseph Parsnik af- ter police were called the Borozans who claimed Faux poured sugar in their gas tanks and stole a license plate. Faux said Borozan gave him the plate. He was charged with receiving stolen property. ~ POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA Dallas resident Joseph Giarratano, 21, was arrested Nov. 7 by Dallas Township patrolman Fred Rosencrans after police were dispatched to Desi’s Pizza on Main Rd. Upon arrival Giarratano was found lying on the ground outside Desi's unconscious. After being stabilized by an ambulance crew he told police that he had just finished a bag of heroin and the syringe on the ground was his. He plead guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia. The Scouts brought dozens of snazzy race cars for the competition, each customized from a kit provided by the Boy Scouts organization.
