Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Girolamo and Saveria Miele Passarella. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Prior to retiring, he was em- ployed as the head chef for the Scranton Country Club; the Irem Temple Country Club; the New Canaan Country Club, CT; Newberry Estate,. Dallas and the Shadow Brook Restaurant. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake, where he was a member of its Holy Name Society and served as a eurcharistic minister. He was also a member of the American Legion Victory Post #13, Dunmore; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Boulevard Memorial Post, Throop; the Antique Automobile Club of America; and he was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He as preceded in death by his wife, Irene (Gnall) Passarella; brothers, James, Nicholas and Philip; sisters, Catherine Doyle and Carole Passarella. Surviving are his daughters, Mrs. Bernard “Buz” (Karen) Boback, Jr., Harveys Lake; Mrs. Ronald (Donna) Kaskus, Tunkhannnock; brothers, Leo, TX; Anthony, Eugene and Robert, all of Scranton; sisters, Philomena Mancuso and Mary Manzo, both of Scranton; sister-in-law, Janet Gnall James, CT; grandchildren, K.C. and B.J. He previously resided in ‘Shavertown, Kingston Twp., and ‘was a resident of Wilkes-Barre for ‘the past 10 years. Before retiring, he was an in- surance agent for John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Co. He was a Marine Corps veteran of world War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of St. Therese’'s Church, Shavertown, ~ Kingston Township; Black Sheep Attachment, Marine Corps of the - Dupont Veterans of Foreign Wars; American Legion Post 558, Plains ‘Township and Wilkes-Barre Coun- cil #302, Knights of Columbus. An avid bowler he bowled in many leagues throughout the Wyaeming Valley over the years. He was preceded in death by sons, David, Thomas, and Jack and brothers, Robert, Richard, Jack and George. Surviving are his sons, Ron , and Robert, both of Wilkes-Barre; 11 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. BERT HOOVER Bert H. Hoover, 40, of Outlet ~ Rd., Lake Township, died Nov. 24, 1998, at home. Born July: 10; 1958, .in Kingston, he was a son of Emmett L. Hoover, Lake Township and the late Catherine Mildbrodt Hoover. Hewasa 1976 graduate of Lake- Lehman High School. He was self-employed as an automobile mechanic for the last 20 years. Surviving in addition to his fa- ther, are his brothers, Kenneth R. WALTER ZINCAVAGE Walter Zincavage, 79, of Zbick Road, Jackson Township died Nov. 28, 1998, at Wilkes-Barre Gen- eral Hospital shortly after admis- sion. . Born in Hanover Green, Hanover Twp., he was the son of the late Joseph and Pauline Maronski Zincavage. He moved to Jackson Town- ship in 1969. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, receiving several medals in the European Theater. He as preceded in death by his wife, the former Helen Friga, for- merly of Passaic, NJ; brothers, Barney and Ben; sisters, Ceil Romanchik and Lottie Kuzinski. Surviving are his sons, Dr. Walter Zincavage, Jr., Lebanon, CT; James Eric, Minehill, NJ; brothers, Stanley, Nanticoke; Jo- seph Simms, Dallas; sister, Julia Walsh, Hanover Green Hanover Twp.; companion for over 20 years, Dorothy Gmiter and four grand- children. She was preceded in denth by her sister, Ann Apaliski; broth- ers, Steven, George, Michael and Jacob; and granddaughter, Bevra Keen. Surviving are her husband, of 64 years, Richard H.
