The contributors were welcomed by Joseph A. Frank, Chairman, Advisory Board. He said the kitchen continues to serve a daily meal for 350-400 guests each day. Anne Marie McCawley, Kitchen Coordinator, acknowledged the support received from the sponsors and expressed her deep appreciation for the work of the volunteers who make all of the difference in preparing and serving the daily meal. Each day, 10 to 12 volunteers help prepare the meal, clean the vegetables, slice the desserts, and serve the meal; all of which would not be possible without their assistance. More than 110,000 meals were served in addition to the 4,000 to 5,000 families that were served with emergency food stuffs from the food pantry and basic clothing from the clothing room, also located on Kitchen Campus. Mrs. McCawley introduced Mrs. Maureen Moran, Dallas resident, the 1998 Sponsor for a Day Campaign Chairperson. In presenting the campaign report, Mrs. Moran stated that 1,160 responded to ~ this year’s campaign, an increase of 200 from last year, with a goal of $120,000 being exceeded. The Kingston Township Board of Supervisors has announced the annual pick up of bagged leaves will take place through November 20. Residents should have leaves bagged and placed for pick-up. The pick-up is limited to bagged leaves only.
