During World War II, he served as a medical corpsman with the U.S. Army Air Corps. After he was discharged, he worked for the Dallas Dairy until retirmennt. He also sold Christ- mas trees. He was a member of the Kunkle Volunteer Fire Company. He and his wife, the former Rebecca Herdman would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on July 20. He was preceded in death by a sister, Laverne. Surviving in addition to his wife, are daughters, Jennifer Hart, Gilbertsville; Melinda Cook, Bowmans Creek; four grandchil- dren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Clifford, Michigan; sev- eral nieces and nephews. She was a 1954 graduate of Lake-Noxen High School. She served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. She was a member of the Noxen United Methodist Church and was employed by Community Services, West Pittston for 15 years.
