He's usually fun about everything. We're always busy,” Chris said. “It's definitely not boring,” said Josh Brakefield of Trucksville. The project, which required a total of 80 to 100 man hours, began December 20 and was com- pleted January 10. Jonathan worked hard but managed to enlist the help of some adults along the way. Says Jim Meehan, Jonathan's father, “I even learned some things too.” The end came just in the nick of time for Jonathan, because the Eagle Scout project must be completed before a Scout turns 18. “The bottom line is that Jonathan turns 18 on January 16," said Jim Meehan. Jonathan was thankful for the project and would be happy to help any Scout working on their E.M. Kirby Center to hold IF auditions for new production The F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts and the Public Theater of Pennsylvania will team up to present their second col- laboration April 2-5. “Nobody Hears A Broken Drum,” the touching and gritty story of the birth of unionism in the coal fields of Northeastern Pennsylvania, follows the success- ful November presentation of “Harvey” as a joint effort of the two entitities. “Nobody Hears A Bro- ken Drum” is an original play written by Pulitzer Prize winner Jason Miller, who will serve as artistic director of the play, which will be directed by Bob Shlesinger of the Public Theater. Miller won his Pulitzer for another play-writ- ing effort, “That Championship Season.” Auditions for the spring pro- duction will take place at the Kirby Center on Mon. and Tues., Feb. 2 and 3, at 7 p.m. Roles to be cast include 18 men and two women aged from the mid-teens to late 50s. Auditioners should be pre- pared to present a short (three minute) monologue of their own choosing, as well as reading from the seript.
