Armed with only a computer, he began to e-mail more than 300 people in the area to rally support for his cause. The new age of grassroots letter-writ- ing campaigns had begun. Kirby was alarmed when he read in the Philadelphia Inquirer that PRISM and Sports Channel Philadelphia would discontinue service after Sept. 30. The two pay channels show both movies and Philly sports. After reading the news, Kirby called Tele-Media Co., the cable company serving the Back Moun- tain, to find out if they planned to carry Comcast. “I talked to the manager of Tele-Media and was informed that they are not getting the Comcast channel because of cost,” said Kirby. “Tele-Media never gave me the same answer twice.” Kirby said the cable com- pany now says it does not know if it will be getting Comcast. DALLAS TWP. - Dr. Roger ~ Landry is ready to appeal the de- cision made by township officials to allow Cellular One to build a 280-foot cellular tower on town- ship land. N After the Aug. 11 unanimous vote, Landry said he would appeal the building permit issued by Len ‘Kozick, zoning officer. was required by law to wait until the official minutes of the meeting were issued. “The minutes just came out,” said Landry, who lives less than 200 ft. from where the tower is planned. “(The appeal) will be submitted to the Luzerne County Court of Appeals. Within the next couple weeks it will be official.” _ Landry has 30 days after the offi- cial minutes were issued to sub- mit the appeal. Landry is appealing Kozick’s interpretation of the Dallas Town- ship zoning ordinance in regard to height and public utilities.
