MICHAEL PROKOPCHAK Michael Prokopchak of West Wyoming, died Sept. 12, 1997 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He was the son of the late Michael and Anastasia Zabowska Prokopchak. In 1935 he earned a bachelor of science degree in edu- cation from Bloomsburg State Teachers College with teaching certificates in English, Mathemat- ics, Science and Social Studies. In 1946 he received a science degree from New Jersey State Teachers College with a teaching certificate in industrial arts. He taught at elementary and high schools in Noxen Township for four years. Prior to his retire- ment in 1975, he was employed by Westinghouse Electric, NJ. He supervised numerous projects in research and development. He was a member of St. Nicho- las Russian Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre; Masonic Order Lodge 40, Bloomfield, NJ; Lodge Council Chapter Consistory, Val- ley of Northeast, NJ; Irem Temple Country Club, Dallas; and Ortho- dox Square Club Chapter 13, Northeast Pennsyvlania. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Anastasia Gaydosh and brother, John.
