Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. at the church, in an effort to gather the congregation to begin the search process for a new rector. The 8 a.m. service will be eliminated for this Sunday only and the events will begin approximately at 10:45 a.m. following the 10 a.m. service. The Vestry hopes all members of Prince of Peace can attend and contribute their ideas at this very important time in the life of the parish. Hamburgers, hot dogs, beverages, and dessert will be provided and we ask those attending to bring a salad or vegetable dish to share. Entertainment and babysitting will be available for the children. UM Shavertown to hold 'Day Apart’ The United Methodist Women of the Shavertown United Methodist Church are sponsoring “Women’s Day Apart”. Join us for a day trip to Sky Lake in Windsor, NY. Rev. Janet Clark and Rev. Vicki Johnson will lead us in a day of fun and fellowship. Our theme will be “Praying the Psalms.” Cost for the bus and lunch trip is $21. We will gather in the church parking lot at 7:45 a.m. on Tues., Sept. 30 and return later that same afternoon. Trucksville UM to resume schedule On Sun., Sept. 7 the Trucksville United Methodist Church will resume its full schedule of activities for the fall. An abbreviated worship service will be held at 9 a.m. in the Church Sanctuary. At 11 a.m. the worship service will include music by the Chancel and Children’s Choir. ‘Sunday School is scheduled from 9:30 -10:45 a.m. each week in the Educational Facilities. Classes are available for all age groups, Nursery through Adult Classes for Bible Study. Rev. W. Charles Naugle is. pastor. The Sunday School Superintendents are Tania Reinert and Sandy Race. Harry Trebilcox is Choir Director. Vivian Jayne is organist and Director of the Children’s Choir. The Crop Walk which raises funds to purchase food for the hungry people both locally and world wide will be held Sun. Oct. 12. Those interested in recruiting persons to participate in the Walk are invited toa rally in the Educational Facilities of Trucksville United Methodist Church on Church Road in Trucksville, Sat., Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. “The program of Christian Education will resume at Trucksville Uniited Methodist Church on Sept. 7 in the Educational Facilities on Church Road. Registration for all age groups, Nursery through Adult Classes will be at 9:30 a.m. Classes are scheduled each week from 9:30 to’10:45 a.m. In addition to Bible Study, the Sunday School will sponsor a monthly Food Bank Drive and will participate in a year long mission project. On Sun., Oct. 12, the First Grade Class will receive their Bibles during the 11 a.m. Worship Service. Sept. 7 at 9 a.m. This is a different time from the last session. This Sunday will be a fun day as we'll be seeing old friends, playing games and have cup cakes and ice cream. “There will also be a hymn sing for the adults in the church from 9:40 a.m. until the start of church at 10 a.m. led by Shirley Mahle. At 11 a.m. there will be a fellowship time in the church hall with coffee and sweet rolls for all. The Worship team was formed four years ago and performs contemporary Christian music in the Hosanna and vineyard style. The band is made up of keyboard players, brass, strings and percussion.
