According to police records, the brother and sister got into an argument that escalated to her stabbing him in the neck with a Jair of meat scissors. John then srabbed the scissors and stabbed .1er in the back of her thigh. John told police he and his ister were fighting because he tole some videotapes and pawned hem. As the argument pro- ressed, he said Rebecca began to row things at him. He said ebecca stabbed him in the neck ith the scissors. He then threw er down and got a hold of the cissors. During the struggle she ras stabbed, he said. Rebecca told police she threw hings at John, but didn’t know if she hurt him or not. Both were charged with aggra- . vated assault. Related charges of simple assault and reckless en- dangerment were dismissed. D.U.I. CHARGES ¢ Old Forge resident Timothy Sanders, 34, was arrested June 18 after Dallas Township patrol- man Brian Feeney observed him driving erratically on Rt. 415. After failing field sobriety tests, he was taken to the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital where he refused to submit to a blood alcohol test. Refusal to take the test results in a one year suspension of the driver’s license. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and disregard for a traffic signal. After failing field sobriety tests he was taken to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for a blood alco- hol test. He refused to take the test, which results in a one year suspension of the driver's license. While being transported to the hospital, police said Hollock kicked the windows in the patrol car and continuously banged his head against the screen. He told police he would kill them and threatened their families. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, criminal mischief, disorderly con- duct and not stopping at a stop sign. Related charges of terroris- tic threats, driving under influ- ence of controlled substance and possession of marijuana were dis- missed. e Harveys Lake resident Steven Short, 19, was arrested June 26 by Dallas Township patrolman Doug Higgins after police were called to an auto accident at the intersection of 42nd St. and Chest- nut Ridge Rd. When police arrived, Short was found unconscious. The passen- ger of the car was lying in the grass approximately 50 ft. from the car. Both Short and the passenger were taken to the CMC Hospital in Scranton. Short’s blood alcohol level was determined to be .173. Short failed to negotiate a right turn at the intersection of Rt. 1018 He slid sideways into a tree. The car left 97 feet of skid marks on the road, accord- ing to police reports. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and being a minor with alcohol. Re- lated charges of failing to use seat belt, driving an unregistered ve- hicle and improper display of plate card were dismissed. The following people waived their right to a preliminary hearing before District Justice James Tupper on August 27: * Wilkes-Barre resident Tacy Stevens, 24, who was arrested June 2 after Dallas Borough pa- trolman James Martin observed her driving erratically on Rt. 415 and Rt. 309. After failing field sobriety tests, Stevens was taken to Wilkes-Barre: General Hospital where her blood. alcohol level was determined to be .139. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and’ careless driving. e Tunkhannock resident Frederick Sterling Mead, 61, who * was arrested July 27 after Dallas Township patrolman Jeffrey Den- nis responded to a report that - Mead was driving erratically on Rt. 309. Police found Mead’s trac- * tor trailer in a ditch and blocking the roadway. After failing field sobriety tests, Mead was taken to the Dallas Township police station where his blood alcohol level was determined to be .163. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and’ - - disorderly conduct. DISORDERLY CONDUCT Tunkhannock resident Robert ~ Talaricodr., 19, was arrested July 5 by Dallas Township patrolman Jeffrey Dennis after police were called to a disturbance around Midland Dr. and E. Center Hill Rd. Talarico and another man were found bloodied and fighting each other in .the street... Talarico’s blood alcohol was determined to be .197. He pled guilty to disorderly con- duct.
