Cellular phone 'monopole’: approved for Trucksville By KYLIE SHAFFERKOETTER Post Staff KINGSTON TWP. - The board of supervisors has approved Omnipoint Communications’ re- quest to put a wireless monopole on Russ & Shirley Major's prop- erty on Hillside Rd:, where Rider's - World is located in Trucksville. The monopole was accepted un- der the condition that it be re- moved upon termination of use. Jean Simchak, consultant to Omnipoint, was pleased with de- cision. Simchak said-the com- pany usually uses small anten- nas, but due to the topography of the Back Mountain, it had to use the 100-foot monopole. Omnipoint is a digital system as opposed to an analog cellular sys- tem. Simchak said it is a smoother call without static. There were no public objections made about the structure.
